  • Overview

    The DBA Developer will have a host of responsibilities including helping the Sr. Database Administrator in installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery. The DBA developer will report to the Sr. Database Administrator. This is a full-time exempt position based in Woodland Hills, CA.

    Responsibilities

    • Help Sr. DBA to build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role
    • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
    • Design, configure and implement database in accordance to users’ needs and views
    • Perform DB backup and recovery using high-speed transaction recovery techniques
    • Manage parameters to provide fast query responses
    • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
    • Enforce database policies, procedures and standards
    • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
    • Monitor and maintain system health and security
    • Monitor database health and its performance and security, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required

    Qualifications

    • Proven working experience as a DBA/SQL Developer
    • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools
    • Experience with Microsoft SQL and its related tools
    • Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
    • Excellent knowledge of T-SQL and ETL processes
    • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, monitoring and SQL
    • Knowledge of SSIS and SSRS.
    • Being available after hours for related DB works such as maintenance, upgrades, etc.
    • Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
    • Familiarity with programming languages, data migration from one system to another, APIs
    • Familiarity with software development life cycle
    • Working with off-shore teams is a big plus
    • Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
    • BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
